Melissa Merten & Thomas Benedict were married July 23, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Monticello by Reverends Al Polito & Ivan Benedict.

Parents of the couple are Marilyn Merten & Dave Merten of Spencer, IA, & Anita and Roger Benedict of Monticello.

Melissa is an 8th grade teacher in Waterloo & Thomas is general manager of Blue Moon Café & Sharkeys in Cedar Falls.
