Monticello, were united in marriage on June 21, 2014, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in

Monticello. The ceremony was officiated by

Pastor Ellery Dykeman. Laura is the daughter of Greg and Deborah Guilford, and granddaughter of Colleen Shipton, all of Marion. Eric is the son of Gerald and Linda Schmitt of Rockford. Maid of honor was Kris Kremer. Bridesmaids were

Carolyn Schmitt, Jillisa Guilford, Robin Schrader, Stacie Breitbach and Diane Temple. Donnie Kremer served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Jason Schmitt, Brian Guilford, Paul Hansen, Jack Leighty and Darren Reade. Junior groomsman was the groom's son, Adam Schmitt, and ring bearer was Jude Guilford, nephew of the bride. Ushers were Jim Litterer, Brian Sedgwick and Ty Kirk. Personal attendants were Kim McQuillen and Carrie Manternach. Soloist was Pete

Temple, with Rachel Johnson on piano and

organ, and Dwayne Johnson on trumpet. A

reception was held following the ceremony at the Monticello Berndes Center. The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico. Laura graduated from Monticello High School in 1996, Upper Iowa University in 1999, and UNI in 2004. Eric graduated from Rockford High School in 1995, NIACC in 1997, and ISU in 2000. Laura is a middle school teacher and coach, and Eric is a high school agricultural education teacher and FFA

advisor, both at Monticello Community Schools.
