Irma Beatriz Matu Garcia of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and Robert Alen Sweet of Houston, TX, were married July 10, 2010, at Martelle Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Pike officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Irma Garcia and the late Juan Herminio Matu Cuxim of Merida. Robert is the son of Roberta and Gary Sweet of Cedar Rapids.
Maid of Honor was Casey Dettbarn of Hiawatha, Best Man was Jim Palmer of San Antonio, TX, and Groomsman was Tom Held of Hiawatha, cousin of the groom.
The couple resides in Houston, where Robert teaches high school.
