a beautiful canyon on the San Andreas Fault near Palm Springs, CA.

The bride, 33, is a

Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow at Norwich University

Counseling Center in

Northfield, VT. She

graduated from the

University of Iowa and is proud to be a Hawkeye. She is the daughter of Scott and Janice Carter of Bertram, IA.

Mr. Currie, 31, is a filmmaker in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Art Center

College of Design in

Pasadena, CA. He is the son of Donna Currie of

Burbank, CA, and

detective William Currie

of South Africa.

The couple met in 2006 at Skylight Books, a bookstore in Los Angeles, where

Mr. Currie was a clerk and Ms. Carter a favorite

customer. They plan to

honeymoon in Tulum,

Mexico, in the Spring.
