The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a * Tornado Warning for... Southwestern Cedar County in east central Iowa... Southeastern Johnson County in east central Iowa... Northwestern Muscatine County in east central Iowa... * Until 845 PM CDT * At 750 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Hills, or 8 miles southwest of Iowa City, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... University Heights around 800 PM CDT. Hills around 805 PM CDT. Iowa City around 810 PM CDT. West Branch around 830 PM CDT. West Liberty around 840 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Springdale, Cedar Valley, Iowa City Municipal Airport, Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, Muscatine County Fairgrounds, Johnson County Fairgrounds, University Of Iowa, Hills Access and Oasis.
