Authorities in Fayette County said buildings were destroyed by a tornado that touched down Sunday afternoon, but no injuries were reported.
Weather spotters watched the twister touch down west of Randalia near 160th and 170th streets. Hog buildings were destroyed and grain bins were damaged, according to the sheriff's office. East of West Union, the high winds tossed a camper onto its top, and at a residence on F Avenue, several trees were uprooted and landed on a house.
A farmer also reported that he lost some calves due to the high wind and rain, the sheriff's office said.
In all, more than a dozen reports of damage were taken in areas near Sumner, Randalia and West Union, authorities said.
Officials with the National Weather Service were expected to be in the area Monday to determine the severity of the tornado.
