CEDAR RAPIDS - Fog greeted Eastern Iowans on Tuesday morning and Wednesday's forecast calls for a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
Storms may linger until Thursday morning, but after that expect mostly sunny to sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.
The National Weather Service reports that unseasonably warm temperatures will combine with increasing humidity to produce heat index readings in the low to mid 90s through at least Friday afternoon.
Low temperatures are forecast to be in the mid to upper 60s through Saturday night.
High temperatures could remain above 80 degrees through next Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service extended forecast. Showers and thunderstorms could return Sunday night through Tuesday.
