A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect Sunday evening for portions of Iowa as a storm system moves through the Upper Midwest. KCRG-TV9 Meteorologist Justin Gehrts says that the snow should end Monday morning, but not before dropping one-to-three inches of snow in parts of central Iowa. The Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor is expected to receive up to an inch of snow.
Gehrts says a second storm, expected to arrive on Tuesday, has the potential to bring several inches of snow to Eastern Iowa. A Blizzard Watch and Winter Storm Watch go into effect for parts of Iowa on Tuesday.
