Even as “dangerously cold temperatures” have pushed all three of Iowa’s public universities

Southeastern Iowa could see up to 13 inches of snow as the first storm of the year passes through the state Monday night into Wednesday morning.

The storm system may impact southeast Iowa Monday into Tuesday, possibly bringing minor winter travel impacts.

In a 48-hour period ending at 8 a.m. Tuesday, most locations in Eastern Iowa received at least a half inch of rain — and some considerably more, according to reports to the National Weather Service.
