Parts of Eastern Iowa are under a flash flood warning this morning following heavy rains overnight -- and there's another potential batch of downpours in the forecast tonight.
A flood warning is out for Clinton, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Louisa, Mahaska, Scott, Wapello and Washington counties through early Thursday, primarily due to flooding along the English River and the Iowa River. Portions of those counties received as much as 6 inches of rain overnight, particularly along and south of Interstate 80, KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team meteorologist Kaj O'Mara said.
After highs that will climb into the upper 80s today, plus oppressive humidity from a moisture-laden atmosphere, there's a good chance of more heavy rain overnight into early Wednesday, O'Mara said.
