Hail has damaged several corn and soybean fields in north-central Iowa.
One farmer who has crops near Belmond and Alexander says he was shocked after seeing the damage hail from Friday's storms caused to his fields. Norman Pals says he's framed in the area for 37 years. He says the hail was so thick that "it looked like we'd just gotten two inches of snow."
The farmers says leaves from his soybean plants were gone and his corn was shredded. Pals says if he can he'll have to replant his soybeans, but he thinks his corn will recover. Pals says he has crop and hail insurance on his land.
