[Volleyball] Four Mustangs receive postseason honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- A total of four Mount Mercy volleyball players picked up postseason honors, the Midwest Collegiate Conference announced this week. Among them was junior outside hitter Brittney Thomas, a first-team all-conference pick for the third year in a row.

Thomas set school records for single-season and career kills this fall. She finished with 516 kills this season, breaking her own school record of 504 set as a freshman. Thomas now has 1,465 in three seasons, which is nearly 200 more than Amy Osenbaugh's previous mark that stood for 18 years. Thomas was second in the MCC in kills per game (4.26) and third in total kills (516) and fifth in digs per game (4.04).

Seniors Becca Lampe, Janae Rosien and Deidre Schaefer garnered all-conference honorable mention. With 347 kills, Lampe was second on the team and eighth in the league at 2.87 kills per game. She ended her career in third on the all-time kills list with 1,268. Rosien had a team-best 711 assists, an average of 6.03 per game that was second in the MCC. She also ended up in the top five all-time with 1,680 assists at Mount Mercy. Schaefer's 274 kills were third on the squad, and she led the Mustangs with 63 total blocks.
