CEDAR RAPIDS - Eastern Iowa Airport soon will be offering passengers easier access to the land of casinos and night life.
Starting Aug. 15, Frontier Airlines will begin direct flights from Cedar Rapids to Las Vegas. Flights will run Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
'Each time an airline adds service at the Eastern Iowa Airport, it means more options for travelers and strengthens our position as the No. 1 choice for air travel in Eastern Iowa and the border regions of Illinois and Wisconsin,” Airport Director Marty Lenss said in an email. 'Frontier is a great partner with CID and we're glad they decided to increase their investment in Iowa's Creative Corridor.”
Frontier Airlines unveiled the new route Thursday as part of an expansion of its Las Vegas routes - direct flights to Las Vegas from Des Moines, Madison and Memphis also were announced.
To celebrate the new routes, Frontier Airlines is offering $59 tickets to Las Vegas.
