MARION, Ind. -- Mount Mercy's Jacqueline Kane, a former Marion prep, cruised to the fifth-fastest time in Friday's 400 meter hurdles semifinal, and will race in the finals on Saturday at 3:50 p.m. at the 31st Annual Women's NAIA Outdoor National Championships at the Outdoor Sports Complex.
Kane set a school record for the second day in a row, crossing the finish line in 1:01.18. She ran 1:02.33 in Thursday's preliminaries, which beat her previous mark of 1:03.71 set as she won the 2011 Midwest Collegiate Conference outdoor championship earlier this month.
Kane, who entered the national championships seeded 20th in the 400 hurdles, will attempt to earn her second all-America performance of the spring. She was an NAIA indoor track & field all-American in the 600 meter run at the indoor national meet in March.
