MARION, Ind. -- Jacqueline Kane, who reached the finals of the 400 meter hurdles with school-record performances in the first two rounds of competition, ran the second-fastest time in school history in Saturday's finals to finish eighth in the nation at the 31st Annual Women's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Outdoor Sports Complex.
Kane entered the national meet with the school record in 400 hurdles. She surpassed that with a 1:02.33 in Thursday's prelims, then topped that in Friday's semifinals with a time of 1:01.18. The junior from Marion, Iowa, nearly did it again in Saturday's finals, posting a 1:01.73 during the eighth-place finish.
