Top Iowa high school girls’ track and field area teams and individuals to watch for the 2024 season:

Cedar Rapids Kennedy — 7th in Class 4A, 38 points, 33 return.

Mid-Prairie — Class 2A runner-up, 49 points, 29.75 return.

Mount Vernon — T-5th in Class 3A, 34 points, 21.5 return.

Solon — Class 3A champion, 79 points, 55.5 return.

Kennedy Axmear, sr., English Valleys — Class 1A discus runner-up.

Sarah Burton, sr., Highland — Class 1A long jump champion.

Libby Dix, jr., Mount Vernon — 3rd in the Class 3A discus.

Jovi Evans, soph., Mid-Prairie — Member of the 2A-champion 800 relay, 2nd in the 400 relay and distance medley relay, 3rd in the sprint medley relay.

Gracie Federspiel, sr., Solon — Class 3A champion in the 800-meter run and distance medley relay, 2nd in the 3,200 relay, 3rd in the 400.

Addy Happel, sr., Lisbon — Member of the 1A-champion 400-meter relay, 5th in the 800 relay, 6th in the 200.

Danielle Hostetler, sr., Mid-Prairie — Class 2A 3,000-meter champion, 2nd in the distance medley relay, 3rd in the 1,500, 8th in the 800.

Sydney Maue, jr., Mount Vernon — Class 3A high jump runner-up (for Center Point-Urbana)

Ema Roberts, jr., HLV — 3rd in the 1A high jump.

Aly Stahle, jr., Solon — Member of the 3A shuttle hurdle relay runner-up, 3rd in the 200, sprint medley relay and 800 relay.

Mia Stahle, sr., Solon — Member of the 3A-champion distance medley relay, 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay, 3rd in the 800 relay.

Noelle Steines, jr., Tipton — Class 1A champion (for Calamus-Wheatland) in the 1,500, 3,000 and distance medley relay, 2nd in the 800.

Addison Swartzendruber, sr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Member of the 4A-champion sprint medley relay, 2nd in the 400, 3rd in the 1,600 relay.

Sidney Swartzendruber, sr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Member of the 4A-champion sprint medley relay, 3rd in the 400 and 1,600 relay, 6th in the 800.

Caliana Whitaker, soph., Mount Vernon — Member of the 3A runner-up 1,600 relay, 6th in the 200, 7th in the sprint medley relay.

Taylor Wing, jr., Maquoketa — 3rd in the 3A 100 and 400 relay, 4th in the 800 relay, 6th in the sprint medley relay.
