Flaming Lips concert moving indoors in Cedar Rapids

Band will perform in Alliant Energy PowerHouse downtown

With bad weather in the forecast, The Flaming Lips' Cedar Rapids concert is being moved to the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on Tuesday night, June 25, 2024. The band will be playing its 2002 sci-fi-themed album, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots." The concert originally was slated for the outdoor McGrath Amphitheatre in Cedar Rapids. (Blake Studdard)

CEDAR RAPIDS — With severe weather in Tuesday’s forecast, The Flaming Lips concert is moving from the outdoor McGrath Amphitheatre to the indoor Alliant Energy PowerHouse, 370 First Ave. NE.

All tickets previously sold will be honored at the new venue, in a configuration as close as possible to the originally purchased seats.
