Bands announced for Summer in the Square Concert Series
First show in new concert series kicks off June 12

A new Thursday night concert season is being launched in downtown Cedar Rapids at Greene Square.
Concerts are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on select Thursdays and run until about 8 p.m. Admission is $5. The proceeds collected will go to the nonprofit that staffs the entry gate and provides support for the show.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
The schedule includes:
June 12 — Dogs on Skiis benefiting Cedar Rapids Parks Foundation.
June 26 — Lonesome Road benefiting Waypoint Services
July 10 — Airwaves benefiting Tanager Place
July 24 — Vibe CR benefiting The Arc of East Central Iowa
Aug. 7 — Large Midgets benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa.
Aug. 21 — Crazy Delicious benefiting Four Oaks Family and Children Services
“Our team is focused on implementing programs that deliver measurable community value,” Cedar Rapids City Manager Jeff Pomeranz said. “Summer in the Square supports local families, promotes physical activity and contributes to a more engaged and activated downtown.”
Presented by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Weekend Rehearsal is part of the larger Summer in the Square programming, which includes more than 20 hours of weekly programming for all ages.
