Ophira Eisenberg, comedian and host of NPR’s “Ask Me Another,” brings “Leaving a Mark” to The James Theater in Iowa City Thursday, Sept. 25.
Dreamwell Theatre will begin its 2025-26 season with a play about death, just in time for Halloween, Oct. 16-19.
The play, written by New York Times bestselling author Rob Bell, made its world premiere in Cedar Rapids in 2024 with Tony-nominated director Kristin Hanggi. Now, it’s headed overseas for one of the largest ticketed events in the world.
The community is invited to two improv shows July 23 and July 25 at Whipple Auditorium in the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
Hancher Auditorium’s 53rd season features over 70 performances ranging from the grand to the personal, from the familiar to the new. The schedule includes a Broadway series, traditional performing arts events, cutting-edge multidisciplinary arts, contemporary touring music and comedy, and special events like the Infinite Dream festival.
“Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed,“ originally a children’s book by former “Sesame Street” writer Mo Willems, features a naked mole rat, Wilbur, who decides to wear clothes. That creates an uproar in the mole rat community.
The last time Theatre Cedar Rapids presented "Little Shop of Horrors" was in 1998.
The production is also looking for adult volunteers for shows Aug. 2-3, 2025.
