Local trailblazers are building a music industry to put Iowa on the map as a hub for production. One of those trailblazers is Cedar Rapids-based rapper and DJ Antonio “Tone Da Boss” Chalmers, who for a decade dreamed of creating Iowa’s take on the Grammys.

The inaugural Iowa Music Awards is designed to highlight and celebrate the high-caliber artists across the state. The event begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, and tickets start at $50.
