IOWA CITY — Mason City's Meyer sisters will hold a basketball reunion in two years.
Megan Meyer, a junior-to-be, confirmed that she has committed to play with the Iowa Hawkeyes. She will join older sister Makenzie Meyer for one season, in 2019-20.
'(Makenzie) loves it there. It's been a great experience for her,' Megan said Thursday night. 'I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play alongside her again.'
In their one high-school season together, the Meyers led Mason City to the 2016 Class 4A state championship.
Megan Meyer attended Iowa's 'elite camp' this week, and informed the staff of her decision Thursday.
'I grew up a Hawkeye fan my whole life,' she said. 'It felt like home.'
Super excited to announce that I am going to be a Hawkeye! Big thanks to everyone who's coached and supported me along the way! June 15, 2017

A 5-foot-8 guard, Meyer averaged 18.5 points per game last season as the Mohawks went 11-12. She has 688 points in her first two high-school seasons.
'My strength is probably my shooting and my ball-handling,' she said.
Meyer picked the Hawkeyes over Drake, South Dakota State and Iowa State. She is the first member of Iowa's 2019 class.
In her freshman season at Iowa, Makenzie Meyer played in all 34 games, starting 23. She averaged 7.4 points per game as the Hawkeyes were 20-14 and reached the WNIT quarterfinals.
