CEDAR RAPIDS — The final Gazette boys’ basketball rankings of 2018 see a pair of new top-ranked teams.

Maquoketa has ascended to the No. 1 spot in Class 3A and Camanche to No. 1 in 2A. Your other No. 1s remain the same: North Scott in Class 4A and Grand View Christian in 1A.

Class 3A has been the most turbulent so far this season, and that continued last week when top-ranked Oskaloosa lost a pair of games. The Indians dropped to 10th.

Maquoketa (9-0) beat then third-ranked West Delaware last week and moves up from second. The Cardinals are one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the class, with third-ranked Clear Lake (8-0) the other.

West Delaware is fourth and Dubuque Wahlert fifth. Sergeant Bluff-Luton (5-2) is second, its two losses coming to 4A ranked teams Sioux City East and Sioux City West.

Camanche (8-0) assumes the top spot in 2A after Western Christian, last week’s No. 1, lost by 15 points to Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Camanche posted an impressive 81-57 win over a good West Branch team last week, and its closest victory has been seven points.

North Linn (8-0) jumps up to the second spot, with Treynor third, Western Christian fourth and South Hamilton fifth.
