Green Bay, Wis., prospect Jack Plumb spurned his home-state Badgers as he tweeted his commitment to Iowa on Monday.

The 6-foot-8, 240-pund Plumb — who attends Bay Port High School — is listed as a 3-star tight end/offensive lineman in the Class of 2018 by 247Sports.

“First off I would like to thank my family and God for helping me through this process and being very supportive, all of the coaches and guys that have helped me become the player I am today and for all of my friends supporting me and pushing me to be the best,” Plumb wrote on Twitter. “After that being said I am extremely excited to announce that I am committing to Coach (Kirk) Ferentz and the University of Iowa.”

Plumb visited Iowa over the weekend and picked the Hawkeyes over offers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State, Arizona State and others.

He is Iowa’s ninth commitment in the Class of 2018 and third Wisconsinite in that group, joining Green Bay (Preble) running back Henry Geil and Balsam Lake offensive lineman Cody Ince.
