With Mallard Fillmore, here we go again

In March 2015, The Gazette removed the Mallard Fillmore comic strip due to “a number of people complaining about the strip’s content.” After a number of people shared their displeasure with this decision, Mallard was reinstated.

Now, Mallard is being moved to the Insight page. Again, the howling of a few and the mob mentality is a reflection of our society to frame and push an agenda. Noise and discourse is used to control and stifle free speech for all.

By cowing to this behavior, The Gazette is amplifying and emboldening these voices and activity.

Mallard is a strip I read daily. In 2015, I indicated I was canceling my 30-year subscription until Mallard was reinstated — and when it was, I resubscribed. Again, I will cancel my subscription until Mallard is reinstated on the comic strip page. My issue is not just about Mallard, but having the opportunity to read about both sides of issues in The Gazette. This, unfortunately, pushed me over the edge of acceptance to financially support such a product.
