The ten steps that are in front of my house were heavily drifted over the morning after a recent snowstorm. I assumed that I might not receive the newspaper, because my carrier would not be able to get to The Gazette box that is attached to my house. I was surprised when there was a knock on my front door in the early morning. There stood my newspaper carrier, holding my Gazette in one hand and a shovel in the other. He had tried to deliver the newspaper before sunrise, as usual, but could only walk up half of the steps. Two hours later he came back with a shovel. He cleared all of the steps so that he could deliver the paper on time.
Thanks to my kind Gazette carrier, Steve Angerer, who went the “extra mile” to see that my newspaper was delivered.
