The question of why I’m running for reelection to the Marion City Council keeps coming up. The simple answer is that I love Marion. It’s true. I grew up in Marion, graduated from Linn-Mar and started my family here.
My job at the time took us to Wisconsin and Colorado for a couple years but in the end we decided to move home, to Marion, to raise our kids. We ended up purchasing a home in the Marion Independent District and now I am proud to say I have two daughters who have graduated from Marion and third attending FMI. There is nowhere else I would rather live.
Marion is such a warm and welcoming community. If you look up the saying “Midwest Nice” you will find a picture of Marion. These are the types of neighborhoods and memories that make Marion so great.
This is what I plan to focus on over the next four years on the Marion City Council — keeping our neighborhoods clean and safe for everyone living there to enjoy. Working on the infrastructure of our neighborhoods. I ask for your vote on Nov. 5. I ask for you to help me in keeping our neighborhoods clean and safe for all of our residents to enjoy.
