Two vehicles involved in shots fired incident Sunday in NE Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids police were investigating a shots-fired incident involving two vehicles Sunday evening.

According to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before 7 p.m. to the 1700 block of B Avenue NE, for a report of shots fired.

Officers located a parked car that had been struck by gunfire and shell casings in the area, the release stated.

Soon after, police stopped one of the vehicles involved and interviewed the occupants. No arrests had been made at the time of the release.
