Former Iowa football player found with 60 tabs of LSD, police say

A former Iowa football player has been charged with the possession of LSD following his arrest outside a downtown Iowa City bar earlier this year, police say.

Lance Karl Tillison, 31, of Iowa City was charged with the unlawful manufacture, delivery and possession with the intent to deliver LSD stemming from an incident on April 27.

Tillison was seen yelling at and threatening a person outside of Bo James Bar on Washington Street in downtown Iowa City around 1:50 a.m. on April 27, according to an Iowa City police complaint.

When officers arrived, Tillison was arrested and later charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, according to the complaint.

While searching him, police say Tillison was found in possession of 60 tabs of LSD, a hallucinogenic drug, packaged in separate plastic bags. In addition, officers allegedly found one whole and 29 half green rectangular tablets with “S 90 3” marked on them, consistent with pharmaceuticals containing alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax.

Tillison faces a Class B felony charge of controlled substance violation, which can carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

He was a defensive lineman on the Iowa football team from 2006 to 2010.
