IOWA CITY - Johnson County Supervisor Rod Sullivan has announced he will seek another term on the board.
Sullivan, who was first elected to the board in 2004, is seeking his fourth term on the board.
Over those 12 years, Sulivan pointed to many accomplishments including dealing with flood response and recovery, passing the first Community ID program in the state, passing the first county Human Rights Ordinance in the state and creating a Local Foods Policy Council and Trails Committee, to name a few.
'It has been a pleasure and a privilege serving as a Johnson County Supervisor,” Sullivan said in a news release. 'We have accomplished some good things, but we can do so much more. I want to continue to push Johnson County to be the best it can be.”
Sullivan, 49, grew up east of Sutliff and now lives in Iowa City. He has been involved in a number of organizations including the Affordable Homes Coalition, Coalition for Racial Justice and Community Foundation of Johnson County.
