CEDAR RAPIDS - Linn County residents may have seen a sample ballot for the November election in their mail recently.
The sample ballot was sent by the Linn County Auditor's Office to all households, which comes with a mailer including information on voting and absentee ballot request forms. The sample ballot is provided so voters can research candidates and prepare for the Nov. 6 vote. It is not a real ballot and cannot be read by a voting machine, according to a Friday news release.
'The Linn County Auditor's Office has received positive feedback on the outreach. However, out of an abundance of caution, the Auditor's Office wants all voters to know this is a sample ballot and cannot be used for voting,” the release states.
Questions on Linn County elections can be directed to Linn County Election Services at 319-892-5300, ext. 1, or visit LinnCounty.org/ElectionServices.
