CEDAR RAPIDS — Workers at the General Mills production plant in Cedar Rapids voted Wednesday to be represented by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union Local 110.

The approximately 520 workers at the facility who will be represented by the union in contract negotiations handle production, maintenance and sanitation.

Local 110 also counts some 600 union workers at the PepsiCo Quaker Oats plant in Cedar Rapids and 60 at Coles Quality Foods in North Liberty, according to union spokeswoman Chelsea Connor.

The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, with about 100,000 members nationwide, is affiliated with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
