Collins Community Credit Union to erect new headquarters

Collins Community Credit Union will build a 86,000-square-foot headquarters on Cedar Rapids's Blairs Ferry Road NE.

The project should be complete by spring 2020, Collins Marketing Director Mai-Linh Hoang said Monday.

The construction, at 1005 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE across from the Target department store, will part of the 35-acre, $70 million, mixed-use Northtowne Market development.

The price tag for the project was not disclosed.

The credit union has some 300 employees in Eastern Iowa and Des Moines, about 200 of whom will move into the new site.

'Our goal is to bring all our support staff together in one location,” Hoang noted, as they currently are housed in different locations in Cedar Rapids.

The site will be developed by an entity made up of the credit union, Hunter Companies and Ambrose Development.

Ambrose and Associates Realtors will be the leasing agent for the approximate 12,000 square feet of the remaining office and retail space in the building.
