Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. With that being said, there are powerful food ingredients that feed your sex drive, and I have a few ingredients in these recipes that fit that category. We can take food to the next level in celebration of love. Just think: An intimate, aphrodisiac ingredient loaded, homemade Valentine’s Day dinner for two. Doesn’t it sound like a seductive enhancement to the Valentine’s Day pleasures?

The fun can start with shopping together, but it most likely won’t end there after this meal. Plus, celebrating Valentine’s Day in your home might actually be nice. Not only will you save some cash, it also will give you and your sweetheart more alone time, adding a little bit more spice to your Valentine’s Day. Bonus: A few of the ingredients in the main course and the dessert are considered aphrodisiacs. I have marked those ingredients list in the recipe.

Today’s recipe provides the basis for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two. Experts on female libido say, omega-3s (salmon) may serve as aids to renewed romance. We’ll reserve judgment on that, but not on the deliciousness of this three-course meal. What better way to show that special someone how much you care than by treating him or her with a delicious meal?

Let’s begin to explore the actual meal now that we’ve built up the suspense, shall we? First, is an appetizer that consists of a simple version of a wedge salad. With yummy salty cuts of thick-cut bacon (any variety of flavor will do). Then you have the mouth watering crispness of the iceberg lettuce followed by the sweetness of cherry tomatoes. But it doesn’t stop there. Add tang and tartness with blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles and BOOM! — instant party in your mouth.

Next is the main course. The honey-glazed salmon and sauteed kale will melt in your mouth. Serve with a side roasted baby potatoes that are crispy on the outside and the buttery creamy inside. They pair so well with the kale and salmon. You can even make it into a sheet pan meal if you want.

Finally, we have the bright, citrusy, palate-cleansing dessert of Lemon Pie Pops that offers a fruity surprise for a pop of color and sweetness. You can use almost any type of mold for these frozen treats. Most people use popsicle molds, but I used shot glasses, which offers you the ability to add more berries and add some whipped cream if so desired. It is a creamy blend that is sweet and tart and even has a crunchy surprise from the shortbread crumbs. There really isn’t anything to complain about with this dessert.

Now that we are all full of excitement and love, let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day with that special someone in the comfort of our own home with a delicious three-course meal that has aphrodisiacs, healthy fats and a sexy dessert.
