A House bill was filed to restrict the use of traffic enforcement cameras by state and local highway authorities. House File 2016 filed by House Transportation Chair Rep. Josh Byrnes, R-Osage, defines what constitutes an automative traffic enforcement camera, it's uses and how local authorities should notify drivers if a camera is present. The bill would also limit the monetary fine a driver receives if recorded violating a traffic law and who is able to review the footage.
