Iowa lawmakers agree they won't adjourn today as scheduled

Republicans and Democrats agree on one thing - they won't adjourn Tuesday as scheduled.
Disagreements over the state budget has left most lawmakers predicting it will be at least next week before they can resolve differences and adjourn the legislative session.
There is no deadline for ending the session, but lawmakers' expense payments end Tuesday.
Legislative sessions usually end about that time, though last year the session continued until the end of June, long past the scheduled adjournment.
Urbandale Republican Rep. Scott Raecker, who heads the House Appropriations Committee, says even if legislators could agree on budget deals, it would take some time for measures to work through the legislative process.
