District 3 council member McGrane headed home after 2 nights in hospital; bleeding was from colonoscopy
Oct. 21, 2009 10:18 pm
Council member Jerry McGrane reported Friday that he was headed home after two nights at Mercy Medical Center.
McGrane went to the hospital late Wednesday morning after he experienced intestinal pain and intestinal bleeding. McGrane was at City Hall at the time of the medical problem and he said he was driven to the hospital by Gary Grant, who is a lobbyist for the city.
From the hospital Friday morning, McGrane said doctors have concluded that the bleeding was the result of colonoscopy last week. Apparently, the doctor had snipped a polyp during the procedure and the cut had not healed, he said.
McGrane, 69, is bidding for reelection to the District 3 council seat.
He will participate in candidate forums in front of the Downtown Rotary on Monday and in his district on Monday evening, he said.
