In a world often plagued by divisiveness and violence, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet brings a refreshing, welcome message of optimism, kindness and education of the heart.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner, Buddhist monk and spiritual leader of Tibet also delivered a dose of lightheartedness during his first visit to Iowa.
His two presentations Tuesday at the University of Northern Iowa drew more than 10,000 people. Many appreciated his style and words, the focus on all humans being more alike than not, and that we must not let race, nationality, wealth or religion divide us.
Thank you for those heartfelt reminders, Dalai Lama. And thanks to UNI, for arranging his visit.
