A HUB OF HELP: Matthew 25 Ministry Hub's work in the flood-ravaged Taylor and Time Check neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids is well known. The organization will be celebrating on Thursday, and there's plenty to celebrate. Last year alone, Matthew 25 facilitated 721 volunteers who donated 15,000 hours of service in such things as working with neighbors to rehab flooded homes, creating the city's, if not the state's, first urban farm, and offering healthy activities for youth.

BULLISH ON PORK MARKET: Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and several officials of Iowa commodity groups say their trade mission to Vietnam and the Philippines last week confirmed great potential for Iowa pork producers to expand their export market to a combined population of 200 million people. And who produces more pork than Iowa farmers? No one.

BIG-NAME ACT FOR RE-OPENER: The date is set and the confirmed act is a big name. The U.S. Cellular Center will host its first concert after two years of extensive renovation when Lady Antebellum, winner of seven Grammy Awards, comes to town on June 1.
