MARKET BOOST: News that the NewBo City Market had landed a $750,000 state grant from the Vision Iowa Board last week means the $5.3 million year-round facility is seen as viable by the state. That's even more significant given the more limited pot of Vision Iowa money available.

21-ONLY IMPACT: The year before Iowa City's 21-only ordinance banning underage drinkers in bars after 10 p.m. took effect, 453 patients ages 18 to 22 visited the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics emergency room for alcohol-related incidents. In the first year of the ordinance, the number dropped to 359 - a nearly 21 percent drop. Dr. Michael Takacs credits the ordinance.

DELHI OWNERS
DELIVER: Surrounding property owners resoundingly confirmed their stake in Lake Delhi's future on Tuesday. More than 95 percent of 879 voters approved raising their property taxes to repay up to $6.1 million in general obligation bonds toward rebuilding the dam that failed during a flood last year. Without that support, state and county assistance for the estimated $12 million project was likely not possible. The recreation site also has public access.
