MORE COVERAGE HANGUPS: Up to 10,000 low-income Iowans who applied for health insurance coverage on the new federal marketplace, healthcare.gov, and likely eligible for Iowa's version of Medicaid may not have any coverage by Jan. 1. Delays in communication between federal and state officials are blamed. Iowa officials say they're still waiting for the information. Iowa's expanded Medicaid plan, which required a federal waiver, did not get approval until earlier this month. Yet another glitch related to the rolling out the Affordable Care Act.

SEED THEFT: Six Chinese nationals have been charged in an alleged scheme to steal valuable corn seeds from U.S. companies, including DuPont Pioneer and Monsanto facilities in Iowa. They allegedly tried to steal the seed lines, worth about $30 million per line, for the benefit of their China-based companies. Five suspects remain at large as of the weekend, while one has been detained.

LOW BLOW: A trailer and 13 customized wheelchairs that help people with disabilities play basketball were stolen from SportAbility. The trailer has been found but no wheelchairs, which are worth at least $15,000.
