Wanted: Your brilliant ideas
Dec. 9, 2011 3:24 pm
In the spirit of all the "What if.." pages popping up around here, The City of Iowa City has launched a Web page soliciting ideas about how to make the city better.
As part of the process to update the city's Comprehensive Plan, they're trying to tap into the greater vision for how we want to grow in the next couple of decades.
And instead of just collecting ideas, the Planning and Community Development department is giving folks the option of making their wish list available for public view.
More than two dozen ideas have been added so far: covering everything from riverfront development to neighborhood festivals, to bike-friendliness and transit.
You can find these Good Ideas on the city Web site -- you can even vote for your favorites. You can even sign up for updates to make it easier to catch new ideas as they're added to the list.
For those of you who prefer the more traditional route, there will be community workshops in February, too.
