Nashville Flood Video

Linda Seger, who rebuilt her family's flooded home on Cedar Rapids' northwest side, sent me a video of this month's Nashville flood.
The images are heartbreaking and all too familiar, of course, as are the sentiments expressed in the text -- lack of national attention, local folks determined to help themselves, damage in the billions of dollars. This was a very severe flash flood, and the damage inflicted by powerful, swift-moving water is astounding.
As Seger asks in her e-mail, you have to wonder, based on our own experiences with the pace of recovery, what it will look like two years from now.
