Marriage and Mary Jane

Jun. 4, 2010 3:27 pm
Two findings from a poll conducted by Research 2000 for Des Moines TV station KCCI:
The survey found that 53 percent of those polled said they favor marriage rights for same-sex couples and that 41 percent are opposed.
On the issue of legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes, 62 percent of those polled said they support making it legal. The poll found that 33 percent of respondents said they opposed the idea and 5 percent were unsure.
Just a couple of snapshots. But interesting ones. That's the highest I've seen marriage equity poll in Iowa.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any specific mention of methodology. Research 2000 did a Senate/Governor campaign poll that KCCI announced this week including 600 likely voters. I assume this was part of it.
