Gawker compiled this list of 20 Movies About the Great Depression that you can watch as we slip into the next one. Clips and all. Better than watching the Dow plunge.

Also, the site is reviving the word "bankster," a 1930s-era combo of banker and gangster.

No word yet on soda jerk, hootenanny, jeepers, creepers, jalopy, moxie, blat, tizzy or Hooverville. Stay tuned.
