I really like the feature The Des Moines Register has been running since December, "Old-Time Photo of the Day." I check it out nearly every day.
Then I thought, "Hey, I've got some old photos. And I could really go for a doughnut right now." OK forget the 2nd part.
This is my brother, Joel (far right) his buddy Steve McLaughlin (middle) and me (the short one) standing outside Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, Minn., after a Twins game, circa 1975 or 76. We're leaning against a 1967 Chevy Malibu convertible, the only new car my parents' ever bought. Do kids still buy those plastic helmets? I think mine cracked on the ride home.
Oh, and by the way, did you see how the Twins delivered a 20-1
beat down of the White Sox Thursday?
