MOSERS' BOEDING HONORED
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Katie Boeding of Hopkinton, a member of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics, earned the 2014 Kevin Ballenger Memorial Scholarship at the recent USTA Power Tumbling National Championships.
Out of a field of 39 seniors and college students vying for the scholarship, Boeding was selected by the voting coaches at the meet.
Boeding, 19, also was honored with a plaque as one of the six finalists for the Nissen Griswold Cup Award for excellence in tumbling.
Boeding, a freshman at Iowa State, has been with Mosers for 17 years and 'is a dedicated, loyal and hard working” athlete, according to her coaches.
PAYN WINS NATIONAL TITLE
Brianna Payn, an eighth-grader at Center Point-Urbana school, recently won a national championship in hydroplane racing.
Payn, whose father Brian is a professional boat racer and was a national champion in the 350 cc runabout class this year, competes in the KPro class for children 12 to 18 years old.
CLARK 3RD IN WORLD
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Malcolm Clark of Monticello recently finished third in the Class A division of the world horeshoe tournament.
A state cadet champion the past two years, the 8-year-old Clark also qualified for the championship class at the world tournament and placed sixth.
