You can watch the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic today on your computer

I think Howard Cosell once said or wrote that all sportswriters want to be on television.
That was before any of them were. Now we're all multimedia, more or less. Radio appearances, Webcasts, podcasts, yadda, yadda, yadda. We're as overexposed as Will, Kate and Gaga.
Today I do some television. I'm one of the pack of on-air people KCRG 9.2 (Channel 109 on Mediacom, 709 on ImOn, and live-streaming on KCRG.com) will have at the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic golf event.
Most of the on-air people are professional broadcasters. I am not. But, if you had to do two or three hours outdoors behind a desk on an August day that is expected to be in the 90s, I'll take one that is going to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for kids in need in Cedar Rapids via Johnson's Kids on Course program.
The extravaganza starts at 10 a.m. and will run until the event is over, 3:30 or 4 in the afternoon. The reasons to watch are the sports figures who will be hitting golf balls at Elmcrest Country Club. Six PGA Tour pros, Cedar Rapids native son Kurt Warner, some University of Iowa sports stars of the past like Tim Dwight and Ryan Bowen, Northern Iowa football coach Mark Farley ... it's a good collection of attractions.
So if you're desk-bound today, get on the live-streaming and do some goofing off to watch a good cause.
