Xavier senior pitcher Jon Keller is the real deal

May. 27, 2010 7:44 am
Jon Keller has good size at 6-5 and is extremely strong in the lower body. Jon has been clocked in the mid 90's with his fast ball. I watched him pitch in a Perfect Game Showcase and was really impressed with his motion, and how easy he made it look. A lot of young pitchers will over throw and they end up getting hurt. Keller's motion is so smooth and effortless, even when he is throwing in the mid 90's.
Big Jon is projected to go in the top 10 rounds of the Majors League draft in June. Based on talent I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top 5 rounds. Keller has signed to play with Nebraska next season, but with his talent I would be shocked if he plays for the Huskers.
Jefferson senior shortstop Kellen Sweeney is projected as a top 5 round pick in the June MLB draft. Kellen told me he would like to go straight to the Pro's just like his brother Ryan did. Kellen has extremely quick hands at short and he has really improved his strength. The younger Sweeney appears to have some pretty good pop in his bat and might have a little more power than his big league brother.
