MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Mount Mercy scoring leaders Anna Kallqvist and Laura Wilberg garnered honorable mention all-conference honors when the league announced its 2010-11 Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Golf awards, based on a vote of MCC coaches.
Kallqvist posted an 86.8 stroke average during her freshman campaign with the Mustangs, which is tied for 12th in Mount Mercy's single-season record books. She was a top-20 finisher in 12 of 13 tournaments. That includes 10 top-10 finishes and three top-five finishes. Kallqvist was a three-time MCC Player of the Week and took medalist honors at the Fighting Bee Classic, where she fired a season-best 74 to win the meet.
Wilberg, a three-time honorable mention all-conference performer, was the team's second-leading scorer at 88.5 strokes per round. She played in all 13 events as well, recording 11 top-20 finishes. Wilberg was in the top 10 in seven tournaments and finished in the top five three times. She placed third at the Augustana (Ill.) Quadrangular and the Donald Ross Collegiate Invitational, and her low round of 80 came at the Millikin (Ill.) Invitational.
