Women of Troy conquer Cedar Falls

Iowa City West girls swim team closed its home swim schedule with a big win. The Women of Troy down state and Mississippi Valley Conference power Cedar Falls, 120-66, in a dual meet Tuesday at the Coralville Rec Center. Both teams entered the dual unbeaten.West won 10 fo 12 events, sweeping all three relays. Senior Sarah Weihe won the 100 and 200 freestyle in 57:04 and 2:03.91, respectively, in her final home prep event. She also competed on the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams. Savannah Butler and freshman Lilian Zhu each won two events apiece. Butler won the 200 IM (2:16.59) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.24). Zhu captured the 100 fly in 1:01.99 and 100 back 1:01.87. Both competed for the winning 200 medley relay and joined Weihe on the 400 free relay.Cedar Falls, which came off a big win at the Cedar Rapids Kennedy Cougar Invitational on Saturday, received both wins from Kelsey Abbas, who won the 50 and 500 free.
